About Robin Spindt

Becoming an Author
A Dream Against the Odds
Having dyslexia, one of my lifelong desires was to become an author—despite being told it wasn’t achievable. In 2007, I began writing my first book, inspired by two things: reading a Janet Evanovich novel and surviving Hurricane Katrina.
After countless writing courses, a strong writing group, and many rewrites, I’m still working on that first book, with the working title “We’re Screwed.” It’s set in post-Katrina New Orleans, where Roni Hirsch is falsely accused of murder. With her best friend Elisabeth, she dives into a tangled mess of fraternity drama to uncover the truth. Will they solve the mystery—or will Roni end up in a Louisiana prison?
A Life in Design
From Sewing to Sculpture
My creative life began long before writing. I’ve been sewing for over fifty years and once worked as a designer in the Bridal, Formal, and Social Occasion industry, serving over 300 accounts globally.
I studied painting, sculpture, and jewelry design at Temple University and the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. I later taught architecture and design at Temple University, Jewelry Design at Moore College of Art, and Art History at Montgomery County Community College—all while running a successful jewelry firm selling to galleries and department stores nationwide.

Building and Creating
Business Savvy Meets Creative Passion
After earning an MBA from Tulane University, I helped launch several startups—taking them from zero to over a million in sales within three years. My business sense helps me see how to monetize creativity quickly and effectively.
Today, I live in Tucson, Arizona, with a dream studio that overlooks the stunning Catalina Mountains. My daily routine includes writing in the morning and working on art and sewing projects in the afternoon. I believe finishing a piece—whether it’s a book, garment, or painting—is a true confidence boost and deeply feeds the soul.
